Eagle Landing Triptych
This triptych shows the details of an eagle landing on a limb near Sevierville, TN.
I think it is fascinating to see the talons open between the 1st and 2nd images, which are about 1/10th of a second apart, and the changing shape of the wings.
The 3rd image is about 5/10ths of a second after the 2nd, and shows the eagle settling in to his new perch.
You may notice that, in the third image, the eagle's beak is somewhat open as he is giving a bit of a vocal "cry" to claim his new territory and show off to his mate, who was perched just off to the right of his landing spot.
